Fairfax Park lays on a festival of football this weekend

BRIDGWATER United FC are hosting a festival of football and family-friendly activities at Fairfax Park tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.

The festivities kick off  tomorrow when Bridgwater United men host Buckland Athletic in their first Toolstation Western League game of the 2021/2022 season.

The match starts at 3pm with turnstiles and bar open from 12.30pm.

Before kick off Bridgwater United will launch their new mascot.

The football continues Sunday with a packed day of events. Bridgwater United Community Sports Trust host their inaugural Business League competition at Fairfax Park from 11am.

This will be followed by the main event – the launch game for Bridgwater women who entertain AFC Bournemouth at 2pm.

Alongside both matches will be the club’s new Community Corner with several organisations showcasing opportunities in the area.

And Community Corner is not the only new introduction to the club’s match day with the club’s first Young Fan’s Zone in full swing all weekend to entertain before and during both matches.

The zone will feature Fast & Furious Football – a fun & frantic inflatable football arena – and a chance to test the power in your strike with the Power Striker activity.

At both matches the first team payers will be joined by two grassroots football clubs who will take part in the club’s Matchday Mascot Experience, giving them the opportunity to walk-out onto the pitch with the players, play on the pitch at half time with small sided games and penalty shoot-outs, have their match programmes signed and have photos taken with the teams.
