GOLF: Sullivan and Rose combine to land ‘Ryder Cup’ at Enmore

ENMORE Park hosted a ‘Ryder Cup’ mixed pairs competition in a ‘cocktail’ format on Sunday – six hole Better Ball, six hole Greensomes and six hole Foursomes, writes Richard Walsh.

Each pair of the 24 pairs were allocated a team – the Lady Captain’s (Julie Blumgart) team and the Chairman’s (Martyn Clapp) team, mirroring the ‘real’ Ryder Cup.

The winners were Mike Sullivan and Anne Elliott Rose with 40 points, one ahead of Martyn and Tracey Clapp with 39, while Steve and Joy Maconnachie came third with 38.

This marked the end of a very successful season of mixed golf and was completed with a lovely buffet thanks to Shelia Bowden.
