A MAN charged with murder 23 years after a woman was attacked in Weston-super-Mare is set to go on trial in 2022.
Steven Paul Craig, 57, Brailsford Crescent, York, appeared via video link at Bristol Crown Court today.
He is charged with the murder of 62-year-old Jacqueline Kirk between April 18, 1998 and August 23, 2019.
The Recorder of Bristol, His Honour Judge Peter Blair QC, remanded Craig in custody pending a pre-trial preparation hearing on August 16.
He pencilled in a four-week trial at the court, prosecuted by Richard Smith QC and presided over by a High Court Judge, from January 24 next year.
