THE Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for the South West tonight as Storm Bella is expected to cause disruption across the region.
Very strong south-westerly winds are expected with gusts up to 80mph on exposed coasts. Inland areas can expect winds of up to 70mph accompanied by heavy, squally rain.
The Met Office is predicting longer journey times and cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected.
Some roads and bridges are likely to close, damage is expected to buildings, and there is a chance of power cuts.
In coastal areas lives may be in danger from large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and properties.
