Thief pulls a knife on man in Penel Orlieu, Bridgwater

A MAN who was walking along an alleyway near the cinema in Bridgwater town centre was punched in the face and threatened with a knife before being robbed.

The victim had just left The Old Market pub, in Penel Orlieu, at about 11.45pm on Saturday, October 30 when he was attacked.

As he tried to get to his feet after being punched his attacker threatened him with a knife before making off with a mobile phone, keys and a card-holder.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said: “An investigation into the robbery is ongoing and we want any witnesses who have not yet come forward to get in touch.

“The attacker is described as white, approximately 6ft tall and of average build. He had unkempt, long red hair and was wearing a grey hooded top.

“Witnesses or anyone else with information about what happened should call 101 and give reference number 5221257932.”
