FIGURES released yesterday show 27 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Sedgemoor last week.
That takes the total number of cases in the district to 1,209 while the figure for Somerset as a whole now tops 7,000.
The worst-hit district is South Somerset where 43 positive tests were recorded in a day, taking its overall total since the pandemic began to 2,028.
Somerset West and Taunton had 36 new confirmed cases (overall total 1,889), and Mendip had 17 cases (1,209).
