WORK is ongoing to build a new building at Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre to provide better facilities for injured wildlife.

Last year the centre sold its front barn in order to raise enough money to start to build a purpose-built environmental building on their property on New Road, East Hunstpill.

The new building – which is expected to be finished by July – will enable better care for the hundreds of wildlife casualties that come through the centres doors each year.

Pauline Kidner, the charity’s founder, said: “Supporters have helped us make this happen and we are all excited to go into 2021 with the base for the new build complete.”

She added: “The coronavirus pandemic caused one of the most difficult years that the charity has encountered. I am so proud of all that our dedicated staff and volunteers have achieved.”
