POLLING cards have been dropping onto doormats ahead of the elections on Thursday, May 6 when residents in Sedgemoor will have their say on who should be the next Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner.
At the same time there is a Burnham-on-Sea by-election and also neighbourhood plan referendum in Nether Stowey.
A spokesperson for Sedgemoor District Council said: “Your poll card gives you all the information you need, including the day and time of the election and where your polling station is.
“It also gives details of how you can make arrangements for a postal or proxy vote. There is a useful polling station finder on our website, to make sure you go to the right place to cast your vote. Elections 2021 – Sedgemoor District Council
“To be able to vote at the elections you must be registered by midnight on Monday, April 19. It takes just five minutes to apply online at gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Anyone who is registered to vote can apply for a postal vote before 5pm hrs on Tuesday, April 20. The deadline for a proxy vote application is 5pm on Tuesday, April 27.
