Man whose body was recovered in Bridgwater docks is named

AN inquest has been opened into the death of Philip Morris whose body was found in Bridgwater docks on Monday, April 26.

Mr Morris, who was 69, lived in Maddocks Court in Bridgwater.

Senior Coroner Tony Williams said the preliminary cause of death, given to him after the post mortem, is drowning.

Mr Williams said: “I have adjourned to an internal Case Management Review on or before July 30, 2021.”

Avon and Somerset police have said the death is not believed to be suspicious.

A police spokesperson said: “If you have any information which could help the police investigation, call 101 quoting reference 5221089758.”
