NEARLY 15,000 speeding offences were recorded in the Avon and Somerset section of the M5 in 2020 – making the road the fourth worst for excessive speed in the country.
A Freedom of Information request sent by Wessex Fleet to police forces across the nation identified the ten worst roads in the UK.
The road with the highest number of speeding offences was the A282 in Kent, which includes the Dartford Crossing.
