A FIRE crew from Bridgwater helped to put out a fire in a polytunnel containing plants at Hatch Beauchamp yesterday.
They were joined at the blaze by firefighers from Taunton and Ilminster after the alarm was raised at about 11.30am.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews attended a polytunnel on fire and on arrival requested assistance of a third appliance and water carrier.
“One polytunnel fire was spreading to an adjacent tunnel along with objects nearby.
“Crews got to work with four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, two safety jets and two thermal imaging cameras.
“Western Power were requested to attend to isolate electrical supply.”
The fire service believes the blaze started accidentally.
