FIRE investigators are working to discover the cause of a fire which broke out in the ground floor of a ten storey block of flats in Bridgwater this morning.
An alarm company contacted the fire service after an alarm went off in the property in West Street at around 10am.
Initially two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were sent to the incident.
After a further call was made saying there was a fire in the laundry room, additional appliances were sent from Taunton, Burnham-on-Sea, Nether Stowey and Street, however not all were required and returned while en route.
Just one hose reel jet and one safety jet were needed to put out the fire which caused “10% damage to laundry room by heat and fire and 5% smoke damage to the lobby area” according to the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
