A LORRY was pulled over by police on the M5 yesterday for having a carrying unsecured boxes which could have fallen into the road.
A picture released by Avon and Somerset police shows pallets of boxes wrapped up in cellophane inside the vehicle but little to keep them from being dislodged.
The Roads Policing and Road Safety Team, which monitors traffic on the major motorway, stopped the vehicle yesterday afternoon and prevented the driver from continuing their journey until everything was secured.
Avon and Somerset Police said on Twitter: “HGV stopped today on the M5 in #Somerset for having an insecure load.
“Driver issued a traffic offence report and vehicle prohibited from moving until load is secured down @DVSAEnforcement.”
