The annual food & drink Eat Festival returns to Burnham on Sea, this Saturday 29th May, welcoming micro and small producers from across the region. Event organisers said they are thrilled to be back hosting the festival in their hometown and are asking visitors to keep local, plan their visit and abide by the latest government advice. The one-day free event will see over 80 regional food and drink producers coming together with traders well-spaced out throughout the Victoria Quarter with the added attraction of some socially distanced entertainment. The whole market is in the open air with measures in place to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
The organisers said “We will have lots of space between stalls and more capacity to include new producers who can take advantage of our Start Out Strong [SOS] discount for those most affected by the pandemic. A dedicated blue badge and mobility scooter parking scheme will be available in Princess Street”.
The organisers will also be publishing ‘green travel routes’ available online and social media, which aim to encourage visitors to walk to the event if they can (supported by Sedgemoor District Council and Burnham on Sea & Highbridge Town Council).”
