King Alfred academy holds successful open day

PROSPECTIVE pupils, parents and carers enjoyed the latest annual open evening at one of the county’s fastest improving schools.

They were greeted at The King Alfred School Academy  in Highbridge by Year 7 students singing a range of songs.

The academy also put on a range of fun activities including history re-enactments and opportunities to meet students and staff.

And student tour guides were also on hand to show people around the campus.

Acting Principal Dan Milford said: “There was a tremendous atmosphere again around the academy for the open evening.

“These are very exciting days for the academy and for the whole community. It was a real privilege to meet so many children and their parents and carers.”
