THE Covid infection rate in Sedgemoor has more than halved in the past week.
Seven days ago it was 30.8 per 100,000 people but has now dropped to 14.6 according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
And although Sedgemoor retains the highest figure in Somerset, it is now below the national average of 21.
The figures for the three other Somerset districts are: Somerset West and Taunton 6.4, Mendip 5.2 and South Somerset just 3.6.
The average for the South West it is 9.2.
