Covid update: Saturday

THERE were 13 positive tests for Covid-19 in Sedgemoor in the latest 24-hour reporting period according to Public Health England.
That pushes up the total number of cases from the start of the pandemic to 5,068.
And it means the latest infection rate bases on the seven-day rolling figures has risen slightly to 73.1 cases per 100,000 people (up from 72.3).
The infection rate in Somerset West and Taunton remains at 38.7 per 100,000 while in Mendip it is 45.9 (down from 52.8) and in South Somerset it is 37.4 (down from 40.4).
