ANOTHER four positive tests for coronavirus have been recorded in Sedgemoor according to the latest figures issued by Public Health England.
That takes the total number of infections in the district since the start of the pandemic to 5,530.
Across other districts in Somerset, there have been eight recorded cases in Somerset West and Taunton, six in South Somerset and five in Mendip.
However it’s a more worrying story in North Somerset where 27 new cases were confirmed.
The latest UK figures show the number of daily reported cases has risen above 9,000 for the first time since February 25.
The Government said a further nine people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the UK total to 127,926.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 153,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
