AS part of celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the Royal British Legion, the Bridgwater branch is opening a new office, staffed by volunteers, on Friday, July 23.
A spokesperson for the Legion said: “The new office is being geared mainly to provide a contact point for the local military community, and especially for those people who need help with welfare provision, which is becoming ever more difficult if you don’t have the IT skills or equipment.
“On July 23 we will open with a coffee and cake morning and we are expecting a very special guest in the shape of a wonderful Chelsea Pensioner.
“We are hoping to see a good turnout of veterans on the day and of course currently-serving armed forces members and their families.
“The branch is dedicated to carrying on the work started back in 1921, in support of the military community, and welcomes contact from those with whom they share an affinity.
“To contact Bridgwater RBL, please visit us at County Court Chambers, Queen Street, Bridgwater, TA6 3DA.
