STRESSED Bridgwater folk are being urged to sign up to a free workshop hosted by a family-run organisation specialising in professional and personal wellbeing to help them tackle stress.
The virtual event on March 29 at 2pm will be hosted by A Centre of Light and will help people learn how to transform stress in their lives to bring about positive changes.
Mags Heath from Bridgwater-based A Centre of Light, said: “We’ve all been a little more stressed than usual lately, so we have decided to host a helpful workshop for anyone out there who is finding things difficult. Stress is a normal part of being alive and it is our relationship with stress that causes problems.
“We will look at the different techniques and strategies that can be used, not as a replacement for stress, but as an understanding of it. We believe that to manage stress, we need to understand its link to the subject of energy.
“We will also look at self-talk and cognitive distortions and also address how we can maintain a level of performance which feels just right, called ‘hitting the sweet spot’, so that you neither fall short in your achievements nor create a dip in your performance by stressing out too much.
“Finally, we will look at how to turn a negative into a positive, which we call ‘coping ugly’.”
Anyone interested in the free course, can email firstname.lastname@example.org to book a space. They will then be sent a Zoom link in order to be able to join on the day.
