A TEN-year-old animal lover from East Huntspill has completed an online University course to convince his parents he’s serious about looking after eight rescued chickens, writes Liam Drury.
Ethan, who attends the local primary school, adopted the chickens from the Pear Tree Farm animal sanctuary.
And to prove his to his parents of his passion and diligence in looking after them, he completed a ten hour course in ‘Chicken Behaviour and Welfare’ from Edinburgh University.
Ethan said: “I’m really passionate for animals and I just wanted to give them a better life, really. They’ve had a miserable life, with not much room. They’ve just sat there, laying eggs.”
Now he sells their eggs himself with all proceeds going to their upkeep and to Pear Tree Farm to help rescue more animals.
