The lifeboat station open day is programmed for Saturday 3rd August, between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm, and is an ideal way for interested members of the public to view the life-saving equipment in regular use at Burnham-on-Sea.
Come along and meet our crews. Admission to the station is free of charge, and there are other activities as well as looking at the lifeboats and tractors. On duty will be RNLI ambassador Jared with his well known RNLI camper. Visitors will also be able to talk to the crew, and the many fundraising volunteers
Anticipated activities include face-painting, ‘soak a crewmember’ (In the stocks with wet sponges), throw-line games, meeting the RNLI mascot Stormy Stan, and an inflatable Shannon lifeboat
RNLI Shore crew member and event co-organiser Paul Preston says; ‘Bring in your kids and take a photo of them with Stormy Stan, or our inflatable Shannon lifeboat. We are a family station, and hopefully in tune with what keeps children amused.’
