ST MARGARETS Hospice Care has launched its ‘Your year, your challenge, your hospice’ fundraising campaign.
The Somerset charity has created a catalogue of online challenges that can all be completed no matter what restrictions are in place.
A spokesperson said: “From walking 21 miles, a flexible yoga challenge, giving up chocolate for a month or even the staircase mountain step challenge – there is something for everyone.
“Each month pick your challenge, or you can even make up your very own. Once you have selected your challenge, start telling your friends and family about it.”
Each challenge is free to register. To support the hospice St Margarets are asking supporters to raise a minimum sponsorship of £21 for each challenge.
Any sponsorship raised from family, friends and colleagues goes towards the care and support St Margaret’s nurses, therapists and doctors provide for patients and their families. An amount of £21 could pay towards the cost of an hours support over the phone to a patient and their family during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Marisa Lovell-Fox, Head of Fundraising Partnerships said: “You can complete your challenge at a time, place and pace to suit your busy lifestyle and fitness level.
“By taking part in Your year, your challenge, your hospice and raising sponsorship, you can help to make sure over 4,900 people facing a life-limiting illness across Somerset receive the care and support they need this year.”
“By signing up you will receive a monthly newsletter, with hints and tips on how to meet your challenge as well as raise sponsorship and you may even feature as the hospices Friday Fundraiser on social media.”
