Call goes out as Weston Hospicecare art sale returns

WESTON Hospicecare are calling on local artists, photographers and creative enthusiasts to donate pieces of work to raise funds.

Money raised, through online and in person sales through October, will go towards helping the charity to support thousands of people in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset and Sedgemoor with a life-limiting illness.

In 2020, during the pandemic, the hospice hosted a virtual Mystery Art Sale which raised more than £1,200.

Kirsty Simmons, Community Fundraiser for Weston Hospicecare, says: “In 2020, we had such a magnificent reaction from our supporters.

“Firstly, from the generosity of the artists donating their pieces of work which was then followed by a great reaction from our supporters buying their work.

“Now art classes, clubs and groups have reopened, we hope to count on our brilliant supporters for a similar reaction, this year!”

The hospice is now encouraging submissions for the art sale, which will take place in October, with sale details to follow in due course.
