Plenty more fish in the sea? Maybe not! We want you to pledge to say NO to unsustainable ‘red rated’ seafood.
Our Good Fish Guide tells you what the most unsustainable and at-risk species are by red rating them. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to make responsible choices. Species which have been red rated and should be avoided include wild Atlantic halibut, European eel, and some populations of cod. We need to choose the right fish, caught in the right way, from the right places to safeguard our ocean for the future.
By adding your name to our pledge, you commit to avoid eating red rated seafood. You are also showing your support for businesses to remove red rated fish from sale and for governments to reduce pressure on at-risk species by addressing the underlying issues of red rated seafood. We need you! Sign our pledge and follow our top tips to help us ensure a healthy ocean for years to come. For more information or to pledge visit the Marine Conservation Society.
