The Bristol Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards are open for entry and businesses are encouraged to start their submissions without delay.
The Awards cover the whole of Bristol, Bath and Somerset including part of Exmoor (www.devontourismawards.org.uk covers the other part) and offer tourism businesses the chance to win not just in the county, but to progress on to the regional South West awards and – for matching categories – the national VisitEngland awards.
Last year’s entrants describe the benefits of entering as increasing bookings, generating PR, helping with staff morale, retention and recruitment, as well as getting free feedback on how their business could be improved.
Categories cover the full range of tourism-related businesses including experiences, spas, wedding and business venues, pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as accommodation, attractions, events and visitor information services. There are also awards for unsung heroes, age friendly, tourism innovation, international tourism, new businesses, dog friendly, accessibility and sustainability.
Somerset based awards organiser Nell Barrington said “Businesses have eight weeks to enter and I really hope that the great businesses across Bristol, Bath and Somerset will take part. Having spoken to last years winners it was great to hear what a positive change winning an award can bring. To help everyone submit their best entry we are running a series of workshops across the county and I hope to see many businesses there. Details can be found here.”
The awards are free to enter as they are supported by many sponsors. Clare Bushby, Managing Director of headline sponsors Clockwork Marketing says “At Clockwork Marketing we’ve boosted hospitality bookings for 25 years, throughout the South West, and we’re proud to be headline sponsors of the Bristol, Bath, and Somerset Tourism Awards. What excites us, is helping hospitality businesses continue to thrive, both urban and rural, in one of the most historically rich and beautiful parts of our country. Here’s to the future.”
Full details of the awards can be found at www.somersettourismawards.org.uk. All entries must be submitted online by 26 April but with Easter coming up it is recommended that businesses start as soon as possible.
