Quayside Festival brings the town centre alive

BRIDGWATER town centre was a hive of activity yesterday as the Quayside Festival got back into full swing.

The free annual festival continued with street art, musicians, dancers, performers, poets and various stalls.

A spokesperson for the festival said: “We would like to thank Sedgemoor District Council who have commissioned Fuse to organise the events and Bridgwater Town Council for supporting Fuse schools eco arts workshops and the festival trail.

“Thanks also to the Bridgwater Cultural Partnership, Somerset Film, Bridgwater Library, Bridgwater Arts Centre, Blake Museum, Bridgwater Carnival, Sedgemoor FM and Bridgwater International for their support and contributions to the festival.”

Charity collections on the day were made by Bridgwater Rotary Club. This year’s beneficiaries are the Bridgwater Food Bank and the League of Friends of Bridgwater Hospital.
