Mike Crocker, president of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said:
“This year’s carnival was one of the best I have experienced in the past 50 years, and I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everybody who was involved and who supported the event.
“We have received some really positive feedback about the carnival and the new start time of 6pm, and despite the predicted terrible weather conditions which never came to fruition, everybody who came to watch the carnival was not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Bridgwater is the home of carnival, and once again it has lived up to and even exceeded its reputation as being one of the largest and best illuminated carnivals in Europe.”
