BRIDGWATER celebrated the turning on of the Christmas lights in spectacular fashion yesterday.
From 10am the town centre was bustling as more than 40 stalls offered unique festive gifts, a wide variety of foods and craft beverages.
There were fairground rides, fireworks and as usual Father Christmas was a big attraction.
The lights were switched on at 6pm without hitch by Cllr Alan Bradford, chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, and Bridgwater Mayor Cllr Leigh Redman.
A spectacular display of squibbing on the town bridge rounded of the official proceedings.
Our photographer Jeff Searle was there to catch all the action.
